ECSM offers stray voltage testing requirements that are designed to assure that every applicable electric facility is tested for stray voltage. The stray voltage testing is conducted on all facilities that are capable of conducting electricity identified but not limited to a list of equipment such as: metal street lighting standards, metallic fences surrounding electrical equipment such as substations, metallic components of overhead distribution and transmission facilities, municipal-owned traffic signal standards and accessible related devices and equipment associated with underground facilities.
ECSM personnel will follow any established procedure when a stray voltage condition is found using qualified voltage detection devices. ECSM personnel use state-of-the-art hand-held computers with a built-in GPS system that allows testers to confirm the location and/or add additional information or facilities to an existing database with the touch of a key.
ECSM will provide all data/information collected during stray voltage testing to the customer in a format of their choice.
